Renewal due:  December 2026

A. ORGANISATION

This statement applies to RAPIvD Ltd (referred to in this statement as ‘the Organisation’). The information included in the statement covers the period October 2025 to December 2026 but may be updated sooner if required.

B. DEFINITIONS

The Organisation considers that modern slavery encompasses:

  • Human trafficking;

  • Forced work, through mental or physical threat;

  • Being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse or the threat of abuse;

  • Being dehumanised, treated as a commodity or being bought or sold as property;

  • Being physically constrained or to have restriction placed on freedom of movement.

C. COMMITMENT

The Organisation acknowledges its responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commits to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. The Organisation understands that this requires an ongoing review of both its internal practices in relation to its labour force and, additionally, its supply chains.

The Organisation does not enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

No labour provided to the Organisation in the pursuance of the provision of its own services is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. The Organisation strictly adheres to the minimum standards required in relation to its responsibilities under relevant employment legislation in the UK.

D. ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

RAPIvD Ltd is a small private limited company with Headquarters, laboratories and manufacturing facilities located on one site at Colworth Science Park, Bedfordshire. The company is owned by founders and company directors, Dr Robert Porter and Dr Tina Hurst.

RAPIvD is a contract research and manufacturing organisation operating in the field of in vitro diagnostics and specialises in developing and manufacturing lateral flow technology.

The labour supplied to the Organisation in pursuance of its operation is wholly carried out in the UK.

E. SUPPLY CHAIN STRUCTURE

In order to fulfil its activities, the Organisation’s main supply chains include manufacturers and distributors of the material and reagent components involved in lateral flow technology. The majority of these suppliers are based in the UK, with others located in Western Europe and the USA. Suppliers are approved as part of the Organisation’s ISO 13485 accreditation with each company having to demonstrate that it has its own quality management accreditation or has an accessible quality management system in place.

F. ORGANISATIONAL POLICIES

The Organisation has the following policies which further define its stance on modern slavery

At RAPIvD, we are committed to ethical business practices and the protection of human rights across our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery—including forced labour, human trafficking, and exploitation—remains a global issue and recognise the need to eradicate it.

We expect all our suppliers, contractors, and business partners to uphold the same high standards, and we require compliance with our approved suppliers’ criteria, which prohibits any form of modern slavery.

We help our employees to recognise the signs of modern slavery and understand how to respond appropriately through open dialogue and reporting, ensuring that concerns can be raised confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

We are committed to continuous improvement and review our policies to ensure they remain effective and aligned with evolving legislation, including the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

G. ASSESSING AND MANAGING RISK

In general, the Organisation considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be low. However, it remains vigilant and has taken steps to ensure that such practices do not take place in its business nor the business of any organisation that supplies goods and/or services to it.

H. STEPS

The Organisation has not, to its knowledge, conducted any business with another organisation which has been found to have involved itself with modern slavery.

In accordance with section 54(4) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, the Organisation takes the following steps to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place:

  • reviewing supplier contracts to include termination powers in the event that the supplier is, or is suspected, to be involved in modern slavery;

  • measures in place to identify and assess the potential risks in its supply chains;

  • creating action plans to address risk to modern slavery;

I. MODERN SLAVERY COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The Organisation’s Office and Quality Manager is its designated Modern Slavery Compliance Officer, to whom all concerns regarding modern slavery should be addressed, and who will then undertake relevant action with regard to the Organisation obligations in this regard.
