Imagine a device that works in a similar way to a pregnancy or covid test. A small, convenient, easy-to-use device that can detect an illness or condition in a matter of minutes. It could be used at home, surgery, or in the workplace.

Well, that’s what we develop at RAPIvD. These are exciting times in bio-diagnostics - and we're driving progress.

About Us

Making a difference - inspired by health & wellbeing - driven by science

Our Story

RAPIvD was established in 2018 by Dr Robert Porter. With more than 3o years of experience in the field of bio-diagnostics, Rob was keen to establish his own company to provide the expertise and facilities required by customers and collaborating partners to advance the technologies and availability of lateral flow and similar devices.

The company has grown quickly. The covid-19 pandemic focused attention on the value of large-scale, low-cost, convenient and accurate bio-diagnostic testing. The team at RAPIvD continues to expand, as do our laboratory facilities. We're small enough to remain agile and large enough to provide a full range of services in this specialised field.

Our Purpose

We find new and better ways to diagnose illnesses and/or conditions by helping to make the technology:

  • easier, quicker and more convenient to use

  • more accurate

  • kinder to the planet

  • more affordable.

Our Values

We have three core values that guide our work practices, recruitment and the interactions with our customers.

  • Knowledge: Our knowledge is our biggest asset, and we pride ourselves on our experience, expertise and a relentless thirst for progress in our field.

  • Quality: Our standards are extremely high… and we’re always looking for improvements.

  • Integrity: We aim to lead and never to deliberately mis-lead. Ethical and moral robustness is embedded in our culture.
