Richard Wightman

Head of Marketing & Communications

Richard is a marketing & communications specialist with experience across multiple industry sectors and geographies. He has a background in international B2B trade events and media, having worked for the ITE Group, Miller Freeman and the Daily Mail Group.

 

A graduate in Politics from the University of Wales, Swansea College, Richard is applying his expertise in the field of in vitro diagnostics, joining RAPIvD in 2022. His customer focus motivates his drive to accelerate the wider adoption of lateral flow and associated technologies. His non-scientific perspective on the IVD sector helps to keep us focused on the value of what we do, the opportunities in front of us – and enormity of the industry’s future potential.

 

Richard has numerous interests, including anything connected with sport, but especially rugby, football and cricket. He also likes the great outdoors, hiking, camping, canoeing, gardening and birdwatching. If you ever visit RAPIvD at lunchtime, you might see him outside with a bag of monkey nuts, talking to a crow.
