Electrochemical and Magnetic Immunoassays
Dr Robert Porter developed Electrochemical Immunoassay Platforms using conducting polymers, and another using silver nano-particles in a microfluidic device. The latter technology was the foundation of the company AgPlus. Using silver nanoparticles as an electro active measurand, then an electrochemical potential was used to dissolve the particles and accumulation stripping voltammetry, using differential pluse as the stripping step .
Using Hall effect measurement we have, in collaboration, been able to develop a highly sensitive immunoassay platform employing microfluidic strips. Utilising this methodology we have also developed blood coagulation systems for INR measurement
